First Haircut.

Sunday, September 6, 2015

I love that his dad gave him his first haircut.

This kid is lucky to have such a good man to show him the ropes.

This is just the beginning.

He was seriously a rock star...until the very end. Then he was DONE.

A Dreamy Summer Night

Sometimes...

The kids are happy. And the sun is setting beautifully.

It's just past bedtime and there's a little touch of magic on our everyday life.

If I had to choose one night to live for the rest of my night, it would be a night like this.

Today Is...

Its a weekend version today

This weekend is happiness.

Its an emotional break down while chatting with the husband on Skype while at work.
Its feeling overwhelmed by all this summer has brought our way.
Its feeling "off" as a family and struggling to figure out how to fix it.

Its my cute husband finding a babysitter and planning a date for just the two of us.
Its going to a restaurant he knew I've been wanting to try.
Its splurging on the movie with the luxury reclining seats.

Its hiring a babysitter two days in a row because taking a break was really that necessary.

Its feeling refreshed.

Its the reminder that life is pretty darn good.
Its the realization of blessings received.

Its cuddling with all three kiddos on the couch.

Its learning to simply enjoy the now.

and...its Emme waking up 20 minutes after she had fallen asleep screaming "Get that doll out of my room. Get her out of here!"

Afton: "Afton: "Yeah"
Me: "Are you excited?"
Afton: "yeah. And guess what. Making new friends isn't even a problem anymore."
Me: "Oh really? Why?"
Afton: "Cuz of the special family home evening where dad gave me a blessing"

A story written and illustrated by Afton Anderson

"Candy Wonder by Afton Anderson"

"One Day there was a beautiful princess"

"She was the most beautiful princess in the world"

"Her friends were pretty too"

"They were going to take a picture together"

"They all loved their picture"

"That day was a beautiful day"

"She sent them a letter"

"They all loved it very much"

"They all lived happily ever after"

She spent ALL day working on this. She would bring me a piece of paper and ask me to write what she wanted that page to say and then she copied it onto the book.

These are the awesome moments of motherhood.
